Pushed by Pain Until Pulled by a Vision

The title of this post is actually a quote by Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith who founded  Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, CA. I found that it completely summed up my experience back in 2007 that pushed me out of suffering and into a state of bliss. I share more in the video below.

Here is the interview I watched that I mentioned in this video that led me to find more interviews, and watch the movie “Conversations with God” that inspired me to pull out my writings from 2007 that turned my life around,  but fear and doubt crept in and I put the writings away. I am happy to say 5 years later I am going back through the work, living it and I’ll be sharing it with you as I go along!

What vision pulls you? Have you gone for it? Have you denied it? Share your story in the comments below!

  2. Oh I love what you shared! Going in slow motion in order to “hear” what you should be doing reminds me of Psalm 46:10  “Be Still and Know that I am God.” I like saying that verse, then taking one word off of the end and pausing, say it again without that word, and then take another word off and pause, and repeat this and eventually you will have “Be Still” in order to hear what He has in store for you 🙂 “The Joy of the Lord is your Strength” is another that your blog reminds me of. You have found joy in His strength, He told you how to get strong and happy. You have so much to share, what good is our experiences if we cannot teach others with them? 🙂 It’s sharing your wisdom and grace. You are so genuine, that is what I love about your videos. Looking forward to hearing what you’ve written!

  3. Hi Lori,  What a great heartfelt video.  Your courageous honesty is a blessing for all of us to see and watch and learn from.  What is missing so much in our modern life is things that are real, deep and meaningful.  So much of what we do is being consumed by fluff.  You are unfluffing and filling the universe with meaning as you share your growth and experiences.  We your audience Love you.  Thomas F. 4. I remember hearing about this book you are writing 5 years ago!! crazy huh. So happy you are busting it out, or ‘birthing’ it out. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your courage, Lori. It somehow always gives me hope & courage to pursue my dreams, too.

    • Yes Sandy, this book was something that turned my life around and yet I became scared to share it! I was afraid of being rejected because I no longer saw the world the same way.

So, yes…. we are “pregnant” together! LOL!

Thank you for your love and support. You’ve got a heart of gold!

And… you can have all that your hearts desires…. you are being called to it 24/7! 😉

And the 1st baby/ pregnancy brings out so much anxiety & uncertainty…but it’s part of our evolution, destiny. I am especially impressed with how many notebooks you’ve written!!

Put it out there (your life mission, this book, etc), flaunt it, go girl! <—- and I promise to do the same. 🙂

  5. Lori you are truly beautiful inside and out!  I love everything you share on your blog.  Including the spiritual stuff.  Don’t ever hold back!  And thank you so much for sharing this Eckhart Tolle video.  Not only was I meant to see this….but I know someone else who really needs to hear this message as well.  I believe the timing was not just a coincidence.
I am running out to find “Conversations with God” asap.
    Love & Gratitude

  8. Beautiful Post! I have also had times where it was as if something so beautiful and special came pouring out of me but then I my mind questioned it and I put it away. So glad you are moving forward and your words and heart felt message have definitely inspired me to do the same. Thank you!

  9. I’m very much a fan of following a vision.

A few other practices that serve me well are:
    1.  Give your best where you have your best to give
    2.  Drive from your lifestyle (don’t take jobs that conflict with the life you want)
    3.  Drive from who you want to be and the experiences you want to create
    4.  Live your values (spending more time in your values is “The Good Life.”)
    5.  Focus on the greater good (this naturally lifts us and everyone around us)

I have a vision for a series of books that will seriously and significantly empower people with skill.  One of the books so far is Getting Results the Agile Way, but I will be revamping the cover to align with the vision, and set the stage for a series.
